Christmas

Christmas can be a magical time of the year. We look forward to this holiday season - spending hours shopping, preparing food, and getting ready for family and friends to visit. My best memories of the Christmas holiday are spending time with my mom and family in Fremont, Nebraska before she left this earth five years ago. How I wish I could still go there and be with her - cooking, wrapping presents, and laughing just about anything we found funny! I am grateful for those memories, and I replay them over and over in my mind as I try to recapture that feeling of the holiday spirit.

This season has been extremely tough for some close friends who have lost loved ones in the recent past and they, like many others, may find this Christmas holiday to be a bit more challenging. My heart goes out to them and all that suffer through this holiday season. Remember to be kind to these people and be there to support them.

Focusing on the true meaning of Christmas -that our Savior was born in the little town of Bethlehem - helps to make the season a much brighter time. We are truly blessed with God's incredible gift of the baby in the manger. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus this holiday season, please keep in mind the less fortunate and give thanks for all the things we are blessed with.
