In 2015, Mike Cavallo from Bryant, Arkansas opened a vintage market to help small business owners start up and grow their businesses. His requirements were that the items be hand-made, hand-crafted, or be sold at wholesale prices from retailers. Painted Tree provides the space and walls for each booth and then the vendors can use their own creativity to make the space their own. Rent is $5.00 a square foot, and Painted Tree charges 10% for all items sold to cover the overhead including utilities, cleaning supplies, tags for all items, and for checkout of all the items for the vendors. They also collect and pay all the sales tax, insurance, and promote and advertise for the store. There is plenty of space still available so if interested, stop by the store and see what it has to offer. This Lincoln location is the 49th store in the continued growth of this unusual way to shop. It is a win-win for both customers and vendors, and it gives everyone a chance to support small businesses.
