In 1865 a novel was written called Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It is a story about a little girl who spots a white rabbit that is dressed in a waist coat and holding a pocket watch. He is acting like he is late for something and being curious, the little girl follows him down a rabbit hole and discovers a fantasy world. She then goes on an adventure through this fantasy world where she drinks some unusual potions and meets some interesting characters along the way.
So, in my spirit of finding new adventures, I stumbled down my own "rabbit hole" and found myself at "Alice" located at 17070 Wright Plaza in Omaha, Nebraska. It is a speakeasy that resides under Jams restaurant that boasts itself as a "cocktail and spirits wonderland". It is based on the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland theme and it is a quirky place filled with curiosity and mystique. The ambiance is incredible. You walk into a very dark bar filled with character - from the oddity of the furniture to the works of art on the walls. They have a full bar with cocktails, rare spirits, and fine wines. Their signature drinks are an entertainment experience with fire, and smoke, and they only use fresh ingredients and high quality products. If you are lucky, a magician might stop right at your table and perform some magic tricks. The staff and bartenders are second to none and their passion is the people that visit this unusual place.
For food, they serve charcuterie boards, marinated olives, mixed nuts, Turkish delights and boxes of chocolates. You can book a private room for a special occasion. Rates vary on length of time and day of the week. They are open Sunday through Wednesday from 5:00pm to 1am, and Thursday through Saturday from 3:00pm to 2:00am. You can check out their website by searching Alice.Bar for more information.
This place is a wonderful experience and it will definitely not disappoint. I invite you to come and check it out and they ask you "To follow the rabbit way down the rabbit hole. He'll lead you to Alice where we'll warm up your soul".
That place looks amazing! Thanks for sharing Patti!
